Former Vanderbilt safety Donovan Kaufman commits to Auburn

Auburn defensive coordinator Derek Mason has added a familiar face to his defense with the commitment of former Vanderbilt safety Donovan Kaufman on Wednesday. 

The New Orleans, Louisiana, native announced his decision via Twitter.

The former Vanderbilt safety appeared in two games as a freshman in 2020. Kaufman finished his freshman season with 15 total tackles and one pass breakup. He was also used on kickoffs for the Commodores and finished the season with five kick returns for a total of 137 yards.

Before coming to college, he was rated as a 3-star and was the No. 37 safety and No. 18 player in Louisiana, according to 247sports composite rankings.
