Auburn began the day with an Olympian winning a medal and ended it the same way.

Annie Lazor, who swam at Auburn from 2013-16, won bronze in the 200m breaststroke on Thursday.

Lazor finished with a time of 2:20:84, which won her the bronze medal. Teammate and friend Lilly King finished in 2:19:92 for the silver medal. South Africa's Tatjana Schoenmaker finished ahead of both Americans to win the gold medal in 2:18:95.

The former Auburn swimmer is a first-time Olympian, and the 200m breaststroke was her only event in Tokyo.
