Auburn's next kicker might not be a Carlson, but the Tigers did land a commitment from the No. 1 kicker in the class of 2022 Tuesday night.
Alex McPherson, the No. 1 kicker in the class of 2022 per 247Sports, announced his commitment Tuesday via Instagram.
The Fort Payne, Alabama, native is the younger brother of former Florida Gator and current Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson. Evan served as the starting kicker for the Gators from 2018-20 before being selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Bengals.
With Alex's commitment, Auburn now has four commits in its 2022 recruiting class. Alongside Alex, the Tigers have picked up commitments from 3-star LB Powell Gordon, 3-star CB Jarell Stinson and 4-star QB Holden Geriner.
