On Saturday Auburn will host Kentucky in Auburn Arena in what is set to be one of the biggest games in the history of Auburn Arena.
Here is what Kentucky head coach John Calipari had to say about the match up with the Tigers:
On the budding Auburn/Kentucky rivalry:
“Anytime you’re in a league and another team is good, you know it’s a significant game. We’ve got to go into the game knowing that the game we’re going to play — we respect all teams.”
On what Auburn does well:
“They’re a good team. They’re big, they shoot it, they do a lot of stuff to get lobs. I started watching tape about a day and a half ago and I was like 'Wow, they’re really good.”
On how Kentucky and Auburn matchup:
“They’re all tough matchups. They’re long, they're big, [Wendell] Green is good with the ball and shoots it, so they’re tough matchups. We’re going into a hostile environment. It's going to be a really hard game.”
On Walker Kessler:
“He’s playing more minutes, so he’s getting a chance to do stuff,” Calipari said. “They’re doing good stuff by running him to the rim for lobs, he’s blocking balls. He’s one of the best big men in the country.”
Auburn and Kentucky will tip-off at noon CST on Saturday, Jan. 21. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
