Auburn football started off the New Year looking into the future as it received its first commitment for the class of 2023. Bradyn Joiner, the No. 1 center in the class of 2023, announced his commitment to Auburn on New Year’s Day of 2022.

Joiner is an Auburn native and current player on the offensive line at Auburn High School. He is a 4-star recruit and is rated as the No. 128 national prospect in the 2023 class.

A week ago, Joiner released his top three options of Auburn, Georgia and Penn State. Ultimately, the 6-foot-2, 328-pound center chose the school that is closest to home.

“It’s the hometown school. Right down the street from my family and they’ve been recruiting me for a long time now,” Joiner said in a recent interview with Rivals.

The Auburn commit just finished his junior season, but he was already been highly recruited. He received 32 total scholarship offers.

Along with being close to home, Joiner likes the idea of being part of a program on the rise.

“Coach Harsin is building something there and I feel like they can be a great program in the next couple of years," Joiner said, according to Rivals.

It is still early, but gaining a commitment from a 4-star interior offensive lineman is a good foundation for a recruiting class.
