Though the season ended for the Auburn Tigers, good news has already circled back to the Plains.

Yohan Traore, one of the top high school recruits in the 2022 class, announced his commitment to Bruce Pearl and the Auburn basketball program on Thursday.

Traore released a top four of Auburn, Michigan, Gonzaga and Texas Tech, but ultimately decided on the Tigers as his best fit. Auburn was one of 19 schools to offer the talented big man.

The commitment comes just days after Traore backed off his previous commitment to LSU who recently fired former head coach Will Wade.

On March 8, LSU received a notice of allegations from the NCAA regarding violations committed by the basketball program and fired Wade just four days later prompting all three LSU commits to announce their decommitment from the school.

According to 247 Sports, Traore is listed at 6-10 and weighs 225 pounds.

With SEC Defensive Player of the Year Walker Kessler likely heading to the NBA draft, Traore could immediately fight for a starting role.

Traore is ranked as a top-20 player in the country per 247 Sports and a top-five center.

He becomes the third commitment of the Auburn 2022 class - joining point guard Tre Donaldson and small forward Chance Westry who both signed with the Tigers during the early signing period in November.

Traore is expected to sign with the Tigers soon as the next signing day period begins April 13.
