UPDATE, 11:54 a.m.: The tornado warning for Lee County and Auburn University has ended, but the area remains under a tornado watch until 2 p.m.
At 11:50 a.m., the National Weather Service's Birmingham office had not received any reports of tornadoes touching down in Lee County. It had received one report of a tornado touching down in Macon County.
Lee County and Auburn University are under a tornado warning until 12:15 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 5, the National Weather Service tweeted today at 11:14 a.m.
Lee County is also under a tornado watch until 2 p.m. Weather authorities advise everyone in the affected area to seek shelter immediately.
Greene Hall in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Ralph B. Library on Auburn's main campus will remain open throughout the duration of the warning for those who do not have a suitable place to shelter.
