A teacher at Opelika Middle School has been arrested in connection with a sex crimes case involving a student.

Detectives with the Opelika Police Department arrested Caleb Daniel Fuller on Thursday, according to a press release from OPD. Fuller, a 36-year-old teacher at Opelika Middle, is charged with electronic solicitation of a child, sexual contact with a student and luring a child someplace in order to perform or to propose sexual acts.

The charges are related to an incident involving an OMS student, the press release says.

Fuller has been placed on administrative leave and Opelika City Schools is “fully cooperating" with the ongoing investigation, OPD said.

Additional charges for Fuller are pending. Police ask that anyone with information regarding the case contact the OPD detective division at 334-705-5220, the secret witness hotline at 334-745-8665 or through the Opelika Police mobile app. You may wish to remain anonymous.
