UPDATE: On Nov. 7, detectives from APD arrested Tyondre Antravius Dowdel, 28, on a felony warrant charging him with domestic violence first degree.

The condition of the victim remains serious but stable. Dowdell is currently in the Lee County Jail on no bond, pending judicial review.

The Auburn Police department is currently investigating a shooting that took place in the 400 block of N. Donahue Drive earlier today.

On Nov. 5, APD responded to East Alabama Medical Center’s Free-Standing Emergency Department. When they arrived on scene, they spoke with a 22-year-old female who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The survivor was later taken to the trauma center in critical condition.

The survivor was reported as being in “serious, but stable condition at the trauma center,” according to a release from APD.

A person of interest was developed during investigation as someone who the victim knows. At this time the person of interest is not in custody.

The investigation is on-going. Police ask that anyone with information regarding the case contact the OPD detective division at 334-705-5220, the secret witness hotline at 334-745-8665 or through the Opelika Police mobile app. You may wish to remain anonymous.
