Campus Safety issues AU Alerts to notify people of dangers and suspicious activities either on campus property or those that have the potential to end up on campus property.

UPDATE: 911 services are restored.

Auburn University issued two campus advisories on Feb. 23.

In the first email sent to students, Safety and Security said,  "A suspicious package was discovered in a classroom at the Haley Center and was reported to Auburn Police Department at approximately 4:00pm this afternoon. Law enforcement have responded and determined that there is no threat to the campus community. All campus activities should continue."

Following this advisory, 30 minutes later, a second email was sent to students:

"The City of Auburn is currently experiencing a 911 equipment failure and is working to resolve this issue. Remember that if a 911 call ever fails, you can text 911 or dial the non-emergency number at (334) 501-3100 instead."
