Five-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick announced on Wednesday that he has flipped his commitment from Georgia to Hugh Freeze and Auburn.
Riddick made the announcement at a ceremony at his high school, Chilton County.
Riddick had been committed to Georgia since November 2022, but after taking visits to Auburn and Alabama, held a ceremony picking between the three schools and eventually choosing Auburn.
The 6-foot-2, 212-pound athlete is rated as the No. 26 overall player and No. 3 linebacker in the country according to 247Sports and also has 16 offers to his name.
If Riddick holds to his Auburn commitment and signs with the Tigers, he will become the first 5-star signed by Auburn since linebacker Owen Pappoe signed with Auburn as a part of the 2019 recruiting class.
Riddick becomes the 12th player to commit to Auburn in the 2024 recruiting class and joins a linebacker class of 4-star Joseph Phillips, who Auburn also battled Georgia for, and 3-star D'Angelo Barber out of Clay-Chalkville.
