Rose Roach (#99) gets a hit against Gulf Coast State College at Jane B. Moore Field on October 23, 2023.

In its doubleheader against Gulf Coast State College and Wallace State, Auburn earned a sweep and wrapped up the fall schedule undefeated, as the Tigers now will prepare for the regular season.

In the first game, Auburn defeated Gulf Coast College 4-0, pitching its first shutout of the day. Auburn was held scoreless in the first three innings before finally scoring a run in the fourth inning. Auburn did not score again until the sixth, where it scored three runs to provide the final margin.

The Tigers only allowed two hits against Gulf Coast as pitcher Emmah Rolfe finished the fall stretch without letting up a single run and earned two wins on the season. Rolfe faced 13 batters, retiring 12. Closer Malayna Tamborra closed out the final three innings without letting up a run to seal the Auburn victory.

In the second game, Auburn took on Wallace State and earned an 8-0 victory. Auburn again started slowly before finally getting on the scoring started in the fourth inning, scoring four to give itself a lead. Auburn then followed that up with another four-run inning in the fifth to go up eight runs.

Auburn again pitched a shutout with junior pitcher Annabelle Widra throwing four scoreless innings and only allowing one hit. Freshman Chalea Clemmons came in to close out the contest, not allowing a run over the final three innings. With the two shutouts, Auburn concluded a fall season in which it did not allow a run.

In the doubleheader, two Tiger batters had four hits: Abbey Smith and Thalia Martin. Smith had four runs batted in, including the first runs of each of the two games. Martin was a threat on the basepaths, stealing five bases.

Auburn's Sunday sweep finished a perfect fall season as the Tigers look to follow up a strong 2023 season in the spring. Auburn's has announced one nonconference event for the season: a multi-team event in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in which the Tigers will face UC Davis, Utah, Wichita State and Clemson.
