In its early bracket preview show, the NCAA selection committee named Auburn as its current No. 13 overall seed. The Tigers, who would be the top No. 4 seed in the bracket, would currently be placed in the West Region.
The Tigers, who currently sit at No. 6 in the NCAA's NET rankings, would join Arizona, Kansas and Duke in Los Angeles for the West Regional, should the seedings hold. The Tigers were previously a 4-seed in 2018, when they beat 13-seed Charleston before falling to 5-seed Clemson in the second round.
Auburn has two Quad 1 opportunities remaining on its schedule, with its home game against Kentucky and its road game at Tennessee falling into that category. The Tigers were one of three SEC teams in the top 16 in the bracket preview, with Tennessee being a No. 2 seed and Alabama being a No. 3 seed. Purdue was the No. 1 overall seed in the early bracket.
The projected March Madness appearance would be the Tigers' fifth in Bruce Pearl's 10 seasons. In three of the previous four appearances, Auburn was a No. 5 seed or higher.
