Taking a trip down to Mobile, Alabama, for the first road contest of the season, No. 13 Auburn earned its fourth straight win of the season with a 6-0 victory Thursday night over the South Alabama Jaguars.

The Tigers kept the offensive pressure on throughout the contest, forcing 11 Jaguar fouls to keep the ball on the South Alabama side of the pitch. Corner kicks remained abundant for Auburn, outmatching opponents 36-10 this season with 7 corners taken against South Alabama.

The Tigers and the Jaguars headed to the locker rooms in a 0-0 draw after the first half, but four different Tigers found the back of the net in the second half to quickly go ahead of South Alabama.

Auburn senior midfielder Anna Haddock started the scoring, finding the back of the net in the 50th minute to put the Tigers ahead 1-0, marking Haddock’s third goal of the season and bringing her point total up to 10.

With defender Mallory Mooney’s first goal of the season in the 55th minute, the fifth-year senior became the 11th Auburn Tiger to record a goal on the year.

With goals in the 59th and 67th minute, Auburn forward Olivia Woodson collected her first career brace, bringing the sophomore’s season goal total up to three to match Haddock for the team lead.

In the 82nd minute, freshman forward Lily Borders capped off the scoring for the Tigers with her first career goal, becoming the first substitute to score on the night and the 12th Tiger to score on the season.

The Jaguars were looking for a staple win in non-conference play against the ranked Tigers, having already fallen in the season opener to LSU. South Alabama will have another shot at an SEC opponent when it travels to Mississippi State on Sunday.

South Alabama fifth-year senior goalkeeper Allison Luckhardt had her work cut out for her in the first half, recording five saves on all Auburn shots on goal with the Tiger offense taking eight total shots.

Luckhardt was no match for the Auburn onslaught in the second half, but ended the match with seven saves on 12 shots on goal— her most saves in a single game this season.

The bad luck for the Jaguars continued in the 88th minute, where an own goal by South Alabama stretched Auburn’s lead to six.

On the Auburn side of the pitch, South Alabama junior forward Laurie-Ann Moise was the only Jaguar to record multiple shots, with her best scoring opportunity just missing high above the net in the 64th minute.

Freshman midfielder Mae Hunt was the only Jaguar to record a shot on goal, with Auburn senior goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska collecting the shot for her only save of the night.

With the Auburn win, Prohaska recorded her 28th career shutout, tying Sarah Le Beau for the second-most shutouts in program history.

The Tiger backline held strong against the Jaguars, allowing only five shots and one shot on goal. The shutout marked the defense not yet allowing a goal in the 2024 season.

Auburn will return home to face its fourth straight Sun Belt opponent, App State, this Sunday, September 1. The Tigers look to uphold their undefeated record at 1 p.m. CST on SEC Network+.
