The 2025 SEC softball slate has been set for first-year co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux, the league office released on Wednesday.
It’s a new era on the Plains, and the schedule looks to be a challenging one as Auburn will face four of the top 10 teams in last season’s final Top 25 poll, according to D1Softball.
The Tigers kick off conference play with a road trip to Starkville to face Mississippi State on March 7-9, indicating the first of eight conference weekends. Auburn then returns to Jane B. Moore Field for its SEC home opener against the Texas A&M Aggies on March 14-16.
The next two weekends of SEC action contain a couple of the best programs in the nation. Auburn will make the trek to Austin, TX for a rare matchup between the Tigers and new conference foe Texas, marking only the third time these teams have met, previously in 2012 and 2022.
A week later, the Tigers will welcome Florida to town in a battle of orange and blue on March 28-30. The Longhorns and the Gators both made the Women’s College World Series last season, with Texas advancing to the finals before eventually being defeated by Oklahoma.
The second half of the SEC slate will begin at Kentucky on April 4-6 before returning to Auburn to take on the Georgia Bulldogs the following weekend. The Tigers then prepare for a tough road test against Tennessee on April 18-20 in Knoxville, a squad that has proven to be one of the top teams in the SEC in recent history. The Lady Volunteers have won the SEC Regular Season title the past two years.
Auburn plays host to South Carolina on April 25-27 to wrap up the regular season before heading to Athens, GA for the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament, scheduled for May 6-10.
Information like television assignments, game times, and other details are set to be announced at a later date. Auburn’s non-conference schedule will also be released in the near future.
