Auburn’s Anna Davis took home her second individual tournament win of her young career on Tuesday in the Illini Women’s Invitational at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.  Overall, the Tigers took third place in the tournament.

The sophomore shot 13-under (203) over three rounds to take the title by three shots over Georgia sophomore Morgan Smith.

Davis’s performances broke the Auburn program record for the lowest 54-hole score by one stroke, a record previously held by Sophia Shuber with 204 at the Alamo Invitational in 2014.

On Tuesday, the Auburn program record for an 18-hole team score was also broken, as the Tigers put together the lowest round in school history, a 270 (-18) in the tournament's final round.

Davis shot 67 (-5) on Tuesday to seal her win. Her day included seven birdies, including three straight to finish her back nine at the Medinah Country Club.

This is the second course in which the sophomore has placed no lower than second in the team's first three events of the season.

Freshman Balma Davalos Guaita recorded a 67 (-5) in the third round, which marks her best score of the season. Her final round included seven birdies and moved her up 24 spots on the individual leaderboard.

Redshirt junior Casey Weidenfeld continued her streak of consecutive rounds under par to start the season to five, after carding 2-under on Tuesday.

Weidenfeld’s 54-hole total of 212 (-4) gave her a top 20 finish at 17th for just the 12th time in her Auburn career.

Junior Rachel Gourley was the third Tiger that broke 70 on Tuesday, recording 4-under (68), which is a new career low. Gourley finished tied with Davalos Guaita for 23rd place individually in the tournament.

After a rough opening round, Katie Cranston bounced back in her final round shooting 68, marking her lowest round of the 2023-24 campaign, leading her into a tie for 47th place.
