The SEC women’s soccer tournament kicks off on Nov. 3, with Auburn (12-2-4) taking on LSU (8-7-3) in the opening match at 2 p.m. CST.

Auburn faced LSU during the regular season, securing a decisive 4-0 victory. However, both teams have a history of success in the SEC tournament.

Auburn enters the tournament with two SEC Championships under its belt (2002 and 2011), and LSU is looking for its second ring with one previous SEC Championship win in 2018.

Now in its 31st year, the SEC Tournament, awards the conference champion an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I women’s soccer championship.

Auburn’s offense has been a powerhouse this season, with the Tigers outscoring their opponents 48-13. Sophomore Olivia Woodson leads the Tigers' offense with 10 goals and is their top scorer.

Graduate student Anna Haddock has put on a performance this season. Haddock proves to be an issue for other teams while recording five goals and 11 assists thus far.

On the other hand, the Tigers' defense has remained a brick wall throughout the season. Graduate student Maddie Prohaska accounted for 27 of Auburn’s 32 saves.

Heading into the SEC Tournament, the Tigers' need to maintain their composure both offensively and defensively.

For LSU, junior Ida Hermannsdottir leads the offense with eight goals and 19 shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Audur Scheving has recorded 54 saves this season.

Together, Hermannsdottir and junior Sydney Cheesman make up the crux of LSU’s offense. Cheesmen has recorded four of the Tigers' 16 assists.

LSU has outshot its opponents 242 to 232 and nearly half of the shots (112) were shots on goal which makes its offensive attack lethal.

The winner of Sunday’s match will face Texas in the second round of the SEC tournament. Texas, new to the SEC this season, has made significant strides in the regular season.

Auburn (12-2-4) is set to take on LSU (8-7-3) on November 3 at 2 p.m. CST, with the match available for streaming on the SEC Network. The winner will advance to face Texas (13-3-2) on November 5 at 2 p.m. CST.
