Auburn Football players tackle Vanderbilt player on Nov. 2, 2024.

ULM head coach Bryant Vincent held a press conference on Monday where he discussed the Warhawks’ previous game against Texas State and looked ahead to their game against Auburn.

On the Texas State game's slow start:

“We couldn’t establish drives and be able to move the sticks and generate points early, that didn’t happen. We got behind obviously early and to go into the half 28 to nothing you know I knew that was going to be an opportunity really a situation that we have not really been in this year, minus Texas and it was an opportunity for our team to show its character. I was proud of how they fought back in the second half."

“We’ve got to start fast. We’ve got to be able to finish strong and that’s what we work on daily, but we’ve got to continue to work on it," Bryant said.

On facing Auburn’s defense:
“They’re fast, they’re what you would expect to see when you look at an SEC team,” Bryant said. “We’re excited it’s the next game. We’re focused on continuing this mission, we’re focused on continuing this journey because we still have three opportunities left."

On blocking out noise and staying focused on the road:
“You’ve got to keep everything within these walls, and we talked about that Sunday and the last two meetings. You’re always going to have distractions whether you’ve started out 5-1 or you’re on a three-game losing streak. You’re going to have negativity. It’s how we stick together as a team, how we stick together as a university; tough times are what shape us as men,” Bryant said.

On Ahmad Hardy and the rushing attack
“Ahmad is extremely hard on himself,” Bryant said. “He’s one of the hardest-practiced players I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s focused, he’s a great teammate. Adversity is going to show, he’s done a tremendous job and we’ve got all the confidence in the world in him. Trials and tribulations provide an opportunity to persevere through those and grow, and that’s fully what we saw on Saturday and how he came out in the second half.”

The Tigers host the Warhawks on Saturday, Nov. 16. Kickoff is at 11:45 a.m. CST and will be broadcast on SEC Network.
