Auburn men’s basketball remains at No. 2 in the latest AP poll for the second-straight week behind just Tennessee – marking the sixth time in program history and fourth time in the last four years the Tigers sit at the second spot nationally.
Monday afternoon’s ranking also marks the 35th time in program history, and 15th under Pearl, the Tigers are in the top-five.
This past week, the Tigers suffered their first loss of the season 84-78 at Duke before bouncing back at home against Richmond 98-54 on Sunday afternoon.
Auburn, still at the top overall spot in the KenPom metrics, also remain KenPom’s top offense nationally despite the Tigers making just four of their last 16 shots from the field and knocking down just one shot from the field from the 7:04 mark to the 42-second mark against KenPom’s top ranked defense in Duke.
Pearl and his No. 2 ranked squad will be without a midweek matchup due to finals week but will face the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Noon CST in the Holiday Hoopsgiving inside of State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
