A pair of defensive backs, Taye Seymore a safety from Georgia Tech and Raion Strader a cornerback from Miami (OH), committed to Auburn from the transfer portal Monday afternoon – marking the fifth and sixth transfer additions for the Tigers since the portal opened exactly a week ago, reported first from Auburn Undercover.
Seymore comes to Auburn with two years of eligibility remaining after playing in 10 games per season during 2023 and 2024 at Georgia Tech. The 5-foot-11, 205 pound safety recorded 51 tackles last season – 30 of which were solo efforts – along with 3.0 tackles-for-loss.
The Atlanta native collected a career high 10 total tackles – six solo – at Syracuse in 2024. Seymore racked up four or more tackles in four contests last season for the Yellow Jackets.
Seymore was a three-star product out of South Atlanta High School and was rated at 87 overall by 247 Sports.
Along with Seymore’s commitment, Strader joins the Tigers after starting in every game for Miami (OH) during the last two seasons. The former Redhawk will join Auburn with two years of eligibility remaining.
The Pittsburgh native collected 110 tackles over his two seasons – with 80 solo efforts – along with three interceptions. Strader recorded three pass deflections in a game five different times as a Redhawk.
Seymore and Strader mark the first two additions Auburn has made from the portal to its defensive unit now one week since the transfer portal opened.
