The good news started rolling in bright and early for Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers on national signing day on Wednesday morning and among the newest additions is consensus four-star safety Anquon Fegans.
The Thomspon high school standout safety signed as the fourth-best player in the state of Alabama and comes in as the No. 79 overall player nationally, according to 247 Sports.
There were plenty of heavy suitors for Fegans — all the way down to the end — as Alabama and LSU fought hard to flip the highly-touted safety, but it was all Auburn when pen met paper.
Auburn safeties coach Charles Kelly was a huge factor in Fegans recruitment, as he coached Fegans’ older brother Tre’Quon during his stint with Alabama. Anquon joins another one of his older brothers Antwon Fegans Jr. who was on Auburn’s 2024 roster as a walk-on.
Fegans ball-hawking ability has been on full display while at Thompson – as it is still fighting for a chance at a 7A State Championship later on Wednesday night – recording 23 total interceptions in high school career while adding 248 total tackles, according to Max Preps.
