Former UConn running back and soon to be redshirt sophomore Durell Robinson announced he will be transferring to Auburn after one season with the Huskies – marking the second player to commit to Hugh Freeze and the program today.
In all 12 appearances for UConn this past season Robinson accumulated 897 yards on the ground, averaging 6.1 yards-per-carry, with nine touchdowns. Robinson ran for 70 -or-more yards in five games and hit the century mark against FAU and Rice.
The Huskies faced four power-four opponents during the 2024 season; at Maryland, at Duke, Wake Forest and at Syracuse. Robinson averaged just 15.3 yards-per-game on 4.0 carries-per-game.
Robinson redshirted during his first stop, Charlotte, playing in just the first four games for the 49ers. He rushed the ball 40 times in four games, finishing with 166 yards and a touchdown on the season.
The 6-foot-1, 200 pound tailback will join Damari Alston and Jeremiah Cobb in the Tigers’ running back room for the 2025 season.
