Auburn women’s basketball looks to end its four-game skid as they play the Georgia Bulldogs in their final road game of the season, as conference play wraps up.

Auburn has struggled throughout the season, posting a 12-15 overall record and a 3-11 mark in SEC play. This comes just a year after the Tigers earned a March Madness bid and finished with a respectable 8-8 conference record. This season's inconsistency has been glaring, and the team has been unable to string meaningful wins down the stretch.

The Tigers' most recent contest ended in a frustrating road loss against their in-state rival, Alabama. Auburn trailed by just one point at halftime but faltered in the second half, ultimately falling 66-50. The game marked their fourth straight defeat, adding to their mounting struggles away from home.

While Auburn has experienced its fair share of struggles this season, it is not alone in this matchup. The Dawgs have also failed to succeed in conference play.

Georgia enters this contest with a three-game losing streak and 10-18 overall with a 2-12 record through conference play.

In Georgia’s game against No. 1 Texas on Sunday, the Dawgs scored a season low 26 points against the Longhorns in the 57-26 loss.

Auburn is tied with Texas A&M for 15th place in the SEC, and Georgia is in a three-way tie with Missouri and Arkansas for last place. For Auburn, this game presents an opportunity to regain momentum before closing out the regular season at home.

The last time these two programs met was midseason in Neville Arena where the Tigers handled the Dawgs in a 67-49 victory.

Players to watch:

Auburn: DeYonna Gatson

DeYonna Gatson has been a force for Auburn this season. In her first season with the Tigers, she has become one of the best players in the conference. After spending four seasons at Texas, Gatson currently ranks third in the conference with 22 points per game.

In the loss to Alabama, Gatson scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. If Auburn wants to finish the season strong and take down rival Georgia, Gatson must continue carrying the Tigers' offensive load.

Georgia: De’Mauri Flournoy

De’Mauri Flournoy has been one of the bright spots on an otherwise struggling Georgia offense this season. The Dawgs rank 15th in the SEC in scoring with 63.5 points per game but Flournoy posts 11.2 points per game while shooting an SEC 5th best 40% on 3-point attempts this season.

Flournoy has displayed her excellence from deep this season, scoring nine of the Dawgs' 26 points against Texas on Sunday. If Georgia wants to get the offense rolling against Auburn, they will need the 3-point scoring of Flournoy to shine.

With two games left, the Tigers hit the road for the final time in conference play and take on rival Georgia. The game will occur in Athens, Georgia on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
