In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, The Well is hosting “February at The Well” with special offerings and events centered around the theme of love.
The Well is a tearoom in Opelika that serves a unique menu with a variety of teas, coffee and collagen waters. The Well also hosts parties and events, ideal for any celebration such as graduation, baby showers or bridal showers.
February at The Well includes “Friday Nights,” which are planned events celebrating the overarching theme of love through friendship, relationships and fellowship. Each Friday, there will be a specific theme for each event. The event will last from 5 to 7 p.m. and prices range from $15–$25 per guest.
The motto for the month is “Everything is beautiful when you look at it with love.” Katie Klein, an employee at The Well since its grand opening in 2021, helped curate the motto to match this month’s theme.
“It really sums up our heart for people gathering here. To some people it can just seem like doing an activity, but there’s so much more that comes through the connection of coming here with someone you love and sharing time together,” Klein said.
Aside from its special events, The Well has a creative menu of drinks served daily. According to Klein, there are about 25 different teas with unique tasting and colorful blends. The Well is a popular spot in the Opelika and Auburn community, designed to cater to each individual’s needs through its architectural design.
“Our upstairs is energizing. It’s got the large windows so you can come and enjoy the natural light, but if you need to get work done, our downstairs area is great for that. It is more relaxing and a little more intimate,” Klein said.
The downstairs area houses spaces for customers to utilize, such as an art room, a prayer and meditation room, as well as common areas. The diversity in spaces allows for the teahouse to host a variety of parties and events.
The Well has already hosted a successful February Friday night, which included creating love letters through what they call the “Writer’s Box" featured on their “Create Menu.” This creative menu offers an array of different crafts customers can add to their experience, such as charm bracelet making and painting.
Friday Nights in February will last from 5 to 7 p.m. with walk-ins welcome. The upcoming events include painting portraits, poetry night and a father-daughter tea.
Portrait painting will be held on Feb. 14 where customers will come in pairs and paint each other’s portraits on canvas, waiting until the end for the reveal.
Poetry night will be held on Feb. 21. Employees will provide designated prompts to inspire customers to write using different styles, such as haiku and sonnets.
For the final Friday night, Feb. 28, a father-daughter tea will be hosted where father-daughter duos can enjoy a mini high tea experience.
Aside from Friday nights, The Well has two special offerings for the month of February: “Galentines Gourmet S’mores & Tea” and “Two Hearts Become One — Stained Glass Workshop.” The s’mores experience is $20 per guest, while the stained glass workshop is $50 per guest. The workshop will be hosted by the owner of The Well, Allison Kovak, and her husband.
