Despite Georgia drawing near at points throughout Saturday afternoon’s contest, No. 1 Auburn led wire-to-wire in its 82-70 win and season sweep of the Bulldogs. Below are stats to know from the Tigers’ 25th win of the season.
Game Specific:
The Tigers closed out the game shooting 19-for-22 from the charity stripe to win by 12 over Georgia.
In back-to-back games, Auburn has had its second and third worst performances from deep this season, knocking down only four against Arkansas and six today against Georgia.
Auburn’s 29 first half points are the third fewest for the Tigers at the half this season. Auburn had 22 in the home win against Tennessee and 28 when playing Houston in the Toyota Center.
Georgia’s Asa Newell’s 17 second half points marked a career high in a single half for the freshman.
The Tigers out-rebounded the Bulldogs 40 to 35 to improve to a record of 18-1 when out rebounding an opponent this season.
It was Tahaad Pettiford’s first game without making a shot from the field, shooting 0-for-7 this afternoon, since the season opener.
46% of Auburn’s points against Georgia came from in the paint, recording 38 such points.
Johni Broome:
After a first half where Broome shot 4-for-11 from the field, the national player of the year candidate shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the field in the second half to finish with 19 points in the final 20 minutes and 31 total points.
Broome’s 31 points are the most in his Auburn career and marks just the fourth time the senior has recorded 30-or-points.
The 6-foot-10 center now has 11 games of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds this season.

Broome's 31 point performance snaps a five game streak without hitting the 20-or-more points mark – his longest stretch of the season without 20 points.
The senior center is second among active D-I players with 77 career double-doubles and fifth with 17 double-doubles this season.
His 41 doubles-doubles at Auburn (2022-25) are tied for third-most among all SEC players in the last 25 seasons, trailing only Kentucky's Oscar Tshiebwe with 48 and LSU's Glen Davis with 44.
Series Specific:
Auburn has won 13 of the last 16 contests in the Georgia series including five straight. The Tigers have completed their fifth series sweep in the last eight seasons over the Bulldogs.
When ranked, Auburn has compiled an 18-5 record against Georgia all-time including a perfect 12-0 mark in Auburn.
Auburn and Georgia have now met 201 times in series history with the top-ranked Tigers holding a 104-97 advantage.
Program History:
Auburn’s current 25 wins ties the 2017-18 and 2019-20 seasons as the third most regular season wins in program history. The Tigers are just two wins away from tying the program record of 27 reached during the 2021-22 season.
The Tigers continue their perfect mark against unranked opponents with a current 16-0 record.
Auburn’s 13th SEC victory ties the 1985-86, 2017-18 and 2023-24 seasons as the third most conference wins in a single season.

The Tigers picked up their last potential quad-two win of the season, improving to a 5-0 mark in the category. The final four matchups for Auburn are all quad-one matchups, giving the Tigers a chance, currently with 14 quad-one wins, to tie UConn’s record from last season of 18 such wins.
Miscellaneous:
In head-to-head competition, Pearl is now 8-7 lifetime versus Georgia head coach Mike White including a 5-1 record since his time with the Bulldogs.
