No. 1 Auburn picked up its eighth straight SEC win to start league play to remain atop the conference, defeating Oklahoma 98-70 Tuesday night inside of Neville Arena. Below is a culmination of statistics to know following the top-ranked Tigers’ most recent win.
Game specific:
Entering tonight’s game Oklahoma ranked 18th nationally and first in the SEC with a 49.0 field goal percentage and finished 33% from the field – marking a season low for the Sooners.
The Sooners were the only SEC team with two players, Jalon Moore and Jeremiah Fears, averaging at least 16 points per game. No Oklahoma player scored more than 13.
Auburn scored 54 points in the second half without Johni Broome attempting a shot from the field. The 6-foot-10 senior played 11 second half minutes and recorded two points – both from the charity stripe.
Not counting games Broome left early due to injury, the national player of the year candidate had a season-low five rebounds against the Sooners. Broome, however, did tie his season high for assists with six.
With 19 assists for the Tigers, Auburn has now recorded 18-or-more steals in 10 games this season. 59% of the Tigers made baskets against the Sooners were assisted.
Chad Baker-Mazara has now scored in double figures 17 times this season including eight of the last ten games. He has recorded a steal in 18-of-22 games including each of the last 12 games.
Program History:
The Tigers have now claimed their fourth consecutive 21-win season — meeting the mark in seven of the last eight seasons. This season is now the 16th 20-or-more win season in program history for Auburn.
Auburn matches the school record for best start to a season by reaching 21 wins in 22 games which ties the 1998-99 and 2021-22 seasons.

The Tigers’ picked up just their third quad-one win of the season with Oklahoma entering tonight's matchup ranked No. 37 in the NCAA NET.
Series History:
Both of the Tigers’ wins over Oklahoma at home have come as the AP No. 1 team in the country – last defeating the Sooners 86-68 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge back in 2022.
Auburn now leads the all-time series 3-1 with Oklahoma. The Tigers are 2-0 against the Sooners under head coach Bruce Pearl.
