Auburn Softball made its first appearance of the season and of the Malveaux era in D1 Softball’s top-25 poll at No. 18 following an undefeated run through the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational this past weekend – marking the first team since Florida State (2019) to post a 6-0 record in the tournament.

The Tigers are one of 12 SEC teams in this week’s rankings with Auburn preceded by; No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Florida, No. 5 LSU, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 Arkansas, No. 12 Georgia and No. 17 Mississippi State. The Tigers are followed by just No. 19 Missouri and No. 24 South Carolina.

D1 Softball also named LHP SJ Geurin its National Pitcher of the Week. D1 Softball also tabbed Geurin and Auburn utility athlete Icess Tresvik to its Clearwater Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The left-handed pitcher was involved in every single win in Auburn’s historic run in Clearwater as she picked up four wins and a pair of saves. The Tigers were the first team since Florida State (2019) to post a 6-0 record in the elite tournament.

Geurin tossed 22.2 total innings and allowed just two earned runs to post a 0.62 ERA. She went the distance in Auburn’s 1-0 win over UCF, marking the first complete-game shutout of her career.

Over the course of her six appearances, the Leander, Texas, native scattered 20 hits to hold opponents to a .244 average at the plate.

Guerin is just one of four pitchers in the country to have six wins after the first two weeks of the season. She also leads the SEC in saves (2), appearances (9) and innings pitched (38.2). Her efforts have helped the Tigers to an 11-0 start to the 2025 season, its best start to a season since 2018.
