The Auburn Tigers are set to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs in an exciting SEC softball series this weekend. Coming off their first SEC series win, the Auburn Tigers looks to maintain their momentum in their matchup at Jane B. Moore Field this weekend.
In the past 15 previous matchups, Georgia has gathered eight wins and Auburn seven, making this weekend an even, exciting matchup.
The Tigers enter this series with a 24-15 overall record and 2-13 in SEC play. Despite their struggles in the conference, Auburn is coming off a successful weekend, having won two out of three games against Kentucky. Their home record stands at an impressive 12-6.
Leading the charge for Auburn's offense is AnnaLea Adams, who holds a .415 batting average with 22 RBIs, followed by Nelia Peralta, another key contributor, hitting .350 with 26 RBIs, tying with Anna Wohlers for the most RBIs on the team now. Then there’s powerhouse, Icess Tresvick with a .293 batting average, 24 RBIs, and 8 home runs, tying with Wohlers for the most home runs on the team. Auburn’s offense will look to stay hot and hold a tight defense against a challenging Georgia team.
On the mound for Auburn, SJ Geurin has been a reliable presence with a 2.89 ERA and a 17-7 record. Haley Rainey, with a 4.3 ERA and a 3-3 record, and Chalea Clemmons, with a 6.07 ERA and a 4-4 record, provide depth to the pitching rotation.
The Bulldogs come into the series with a 25-13 overall record and a 4-10 record in SEC play. Their away record stands at 3-5, suggesting they may face challenges on the road. However, their overall performance this season indicates good competition.
Jaydyn Goodwin leads the Bulldogs with a .352 batting average, a 1.027 OPS, and 35 RBIs, followed closely by Sarah Goodwin, batting .339 with a 1.028 OPS, 37 RBIs, and 8 home runs, leading the team in both RBIs and home runs. Tyler Ellison is another key contributor to the bulldog’s offense, contributing a .338 batting average, a 1.034 OPS, and 20 RBIs.
On the pitching side for Georgia, Rachel Gibson has a 2.69 ERA and a 5-2 record, making her a key player in the Bulldogs' pitching staff. Randi Roelling holds a 3.09 ERA and an 8-6 record, and Lilli Backes who has a 3.45 ERA and a 10-5 record, both key athletes in the bullpen.
