Home Game: Auburn vs. Texas A&M (Football)
In a game that will be remembered as one of the most thrilling in Auburn football history, the Tigers edged No. 15 Texas A&M 43-41 in a four-overtime epic at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Running back Jarquez Hunter led the charge with 130 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Payton Thorne threw for 301 yards and two scores. The game was sealed when Thorne connected with KeAndre Lambert-Smith for a two-point conversion in the fourth OT, followed by a defensive stand that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
Coach: Bruce Pearl
Bruce Pearl guided the Auburn men’s basketball team to unprecedented heights, earning him a share of the 2025 AP National Coach of the Year award — the first tie in the award’s 58-year history. Under his leadership, the Tigers achieved a program-best 32 wins, secured the SEC regular-season championship and advanced to the Final Four as the No. 1 overall seed. Pearl’s ability to develop talent and foster a winning culture has solidified Auburn’s status as a national powerhouse.
Intramural Sport: Flag Football
Flag football has become a cornerstone of Auburn’s intramural sports scene, offering students a competitive and engaging way to stay active and connected. With high participation rates and spirited competition, the sport fosters camaraderie and school spirit, embodying the vibrant campus life that defines Auburn University.
Male Athlete: Johni Broome
Johni Broome delivered a historic season for Auburn men’s basketball, becoming the program’s first-ever AP First Team All-American. Averaging 18.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 blocks per game, Broome was the only Division I player to reach those marks this season. His dominance helped lead the Tigers to a school-record 32 wins, an SEC regular-season title and a Final Four appearance. Broome’s clutch performances included a game-winning putback against Iowa State in the Maui Invitational and a 30-point, 13-rebound effort in the ACC/SEC Challenge against Virginia Tech. He concluded his Auburn career with 41 double-doubles, ranking among the most in SEC history.
Female Athlete: Paige Zancan
Auburn gymnast Paige Zancan soared to new heights in her sophomore season, becoming a key contributor to the Tigers’ success on the mat. Known for her unique and technically demanding double front handspring vault, Zancan brought creativity and consistency to each competition. Her standout performances across three events consistently delivered high scores, helping Auburn remain a national contender in collegiate gymnastics. With a blend of precision and power, Zancan has firmly established herself as one of Auburn’s most exciting athletes.
