The Auburn Tigers (13-6, 4-4) have had a rough go over the last three matches, but will seek to regroup against the struggling Arkansas Razorbacks (5-14, 1-7).

Auburn is currently on a three-game losing streak, all coming against ranked conference opponents. Their most recent two, the first of which being a four-match series against the No. 3 Kentucky Wildcats and the second being a sweep against the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers, both took place on the road. Auburn will be hoping to bounce back from this losing streak at home and get back to above .500 in conference play.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are in the middle of a rather disappointing season, having just lost to No. 10 Texas A&M on the road, holding a seven-game losing streak, and having won only one conference matchup the entire season. This win came in a five-game series against Ole Miss and was the Razorbacks’ last win before entering their current losing streak.

“Certainly is frustrating to have a result like that. I thought we played much better than a sweep. It was good to get Greer (Chambless) in there, and I felt she certainly found a rhythm there in the third set. It’s encouraging to be this close against ranked teams on the road, but I also think we left a little on the table there. End of sets is obviously something we need to work on, and we will before Arkansas on Wednesday,” explained Auburn head coach Brent Crouch.

Greer Chambless, a freshman outside hitter from Dallas, Texas, recorded her first playtime as a Tiger in their match against Tennessee, putting up seven kills. Defensively, the Tigers performed well once again, with Lauren Dreves recording ten digs as well as ten kills, leading the team with six double-doubles on the season. Additionally, Alexis DaCosta recorded 12 digs, helping her reach double-digits for the fourteenth time this season. Auburn’s struggles, as stated by Crouch, primarily came at the end of sets, having only lost the second frame at the very end with the Vols hitting two straight kills, and Tennessee ended the third set with a final two points, ending the set at 26-24.

On the other side of the matchup, the Razorbacks would benefit greatly from being able to steal a win on the road and get their second conference win of the season, as well as their first win since September. Redshirt sophomore Laken Laurendine led the team’s offensive attack with ten kills, having been the only Razorback to record double-digit kills on the night. North Carolina transfer and Little Rock native Romani Thurman also put up a fight, having logged seven kills of her own and zero errors.

The Tigers will be looking to bounce back from their harshest stretch of the season, meanwhile the Razorbacks are in desperate need of a breath of life. The Razorbacks are also looking for their first road win of the season, so Auburn will have to remain diligent to avoid a home upset.

The Auburn Tigers will face the Arkansas Razorbacks on October 22, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. CST at Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama. This game will be available to stream on SECN+.
