On March 2 at 2:18 p.m., the Auburn Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at Yugo North apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment.
The individual was then transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional for further treatment. Pick Elementary School was placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of students, but has since been lifted due to police suspicion that the suspect fled in a vehicle.
Police remain at the complex as investigations continue, and ask individuals to stay away from the area until notified.
The Auburn Police Department asks anyone with information related to the incident to contact them at (334) 501-3100. Reports can also be made through call or text to their tip line at (334) 246-1391 or by emailing police@auburnalabama.org
