The No. 1 Auburn Tigers are set to host the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) quarterfinals in Neville Arena against the No. 2 Nevada Wolfpack. The Wednesday night game will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Auburn holds a 19-16 (7-11 SEC) record this season following the 91-85 NIT win over Seattle last Sunday.
Kevin Overton led the charge for the Tigers again, putting up 23 points against the Redhawks, marking his fifth 20+ point game of March.
“KO’s been playing well offensively since SEC play got started,” head coach Steven Pearl said. “Every time he shoots it, we think it’s going in. He’s been a great spark for us offensively.”
Overton and Elyjah Freeman scored a combined eight 3-pointers, with Freeman going 4-for-4 from 3-point range in the second half. On top of that, Freeman scored 19 points and had seven rebounds.
Keyshawn Hall and Sebastian Williams-Adams also had standout performances Sunday night. Hall grabbed 15 rebounds and Williams-Adams poured in 15 points, three assists and two steals.
Williams-Adams and company are looking to dominate one last time this season at Neville Arena on Wednesday night.
Auburn Forward Sebastian Williams-Adams (33) blows a kiss after making a three-pointer during a matchup against Mississippi State in Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Mar. 11, 2026.
“Focusing on what I do best and not trying to change my game,” Williams-Adams said. “We love playing with each other. Being able to play in front of the Jungle is amazing. We relish the opportunity to be able to compete and show our skills on TV.”
As for Nevada, the Wolfpack hold a 24-12 record this season and are coming off a 73-63 win over Liberty, advancing them to the NIT quarterfinals.
Regardless of his low-scoring game, Corey Camper led the Wolfpack on Saturday with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, securing the team’s first triple-double since Kenan Blackshear’s in 2022.
“It felt great. I was just trying to find a way to win,” Camper said. “No matter whether shots was falling or wasn’t falling, I was just crashing glass. I was just trying to find a way to win.”
Nevada started out slow in the first half on Saturday but picked things back up to come out on top. Sophomore Elijah Price led the team offensively with 15 points and 10 rebounds, earning himself a double-double. Their offense was consistently strong with Vaughn Weems, Tayshawn Comer and Joel Armotrading all scoring 10 points.
“I thought our last eight minutes [of the game] were what we’ve done in this building all year,” Nevada head coach Steve Alford said. “We’ve won 17-2 in this building, and we won the last eight minutes.”
Nevada held out a strong defense against Liberty, whereas Auburn’s defense is consistently lacking. However, if Auburn can keep up the offensive groove on their home court, they can certainly put up a fight. Both teams are searching for a win to punch a ticket to Indianapolis for the NIT semifinals.
No. 1 Auburn and No. 2 Nevada are set to face off inside Neville Arena on Wednesday at 8 p.m. CDT. The game can be found on ESPN2.
