Ground can officially be broken on the north side of Jordan-Hare Stadium, with construction on a brand-new 300,000-square-foot facility slated to begin in summer 2026.

Scheduled for completion in the spring 2029, the project is set to be the largest and most expensive endeavor in the history of Auburn athletics. A joint venture between the Auburn athletics department and the division of student affairs, the project’s primary structure will serve both the student experience and football game days when complete.

Providing over 3,000 new premium seating experiences while maintaining Jordan-Hare Stadium’s capacity of over 88,000 fans, the introduction of five new entry gates, 66 concession points of sale, 13 elevators and 270 restroom fixtures will streamline the Saturday experience for thousands of fans.

The upper levels will include reserved experiences for the Tiger’s Terrace, 1892 Club, 1892 Legacy Club and Heisman Founder’s Club, as well as two new access-pass clubs, the Kick Six Field Club and Pat’s Place.

Ensuring the venue is dense with activity year-round, a multitude of conference and event spaces, meeting rooms, retail venues and student activity spaces will characterize much of the facility. The building will also quarter Shug’s Food Hall, a centralized campus dining option that will double as a concession hub for all ticket holders on gamedays.

“Auburn creates an exceptional student experience by providing students the spaces, resources and opportunities they need to gather, connect and engage with each other,” said Bobby Woodard, senior vice president of student affairs, in an Instagram post. “By dramatically expanding student life space in the heart of campus, we answer a growing demand for places where students can celebrate milestones, build community and take part in the traditions that shape Auburn.”

The sixth-floor terrace, which will include expanded food and beverage services along with enhanced standing-room areas, will fully connect the east and west upper decks and modernize access to the upper levels. It will also house a brand-new dedicated home for the Eagle Flight, one of Auburn football’s most revered traditions.

“The Jordan-Hare North project will benefit Auburn for generations, elevating the experience for all fans on football Saturdays while also enhancing the campus community year-round,” Auburn athletics director John Cohen said on Instagram. “We are extraordinarily grateful to the Board of Trustees for their final approval, and to President Roberts, Dr. Bobby Woodard and Auburn University for their partnership. We encourage Auburn people to enthusiastically support the ‘Ever Auburn’ campaign.”

Outside of the primary facility will be the new North Plaza, a blend of green space, brick and hardscape that will enhance both the student and game day experience, serving as the main entry point to Shug’s Food Hall and the rest of the venue. Stretching between the stadium and historic Petrie Hall, the plaza will serve as a leisure and event space and vastly improve the area’s walkability, better connecting the east and west sides of campus.

"This is an unbelievable day for the Auburn family” head football coach Alex Golesh said in a statement on Instagram. “I want to thank the Board of Trustees, President Roberts and John Cohen for their leadership and vision in making this happen. The Jordan-Hare North project will be an elite space that serves the entire Auburn community, 365 days a year. Jordan-Hare is the best game day environment in the country, and this project is going to take that experience to a completely different level. It's a great time to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle!”

Delegated in September 2024, the facility’s engineering and architecture will be superintended by HOK Architects of Kansas City, Missouri, with the help of associate architects CDFL Architects + Engineers and Workshop Architects. Robins & Morton of Birmingham, Alabama, will act as the project’s construction manager.

Spearheaded by the installation of the north end zone’s new video board for the 2025 football season, this marks Phase two of the stadium's north project. Phase two’s approval also marks the initial launch of the school’s new fundraising campaign, “Ever Auburn,” which has been in the works since the Board’s initial approval in 2024.
