No. 13 Auburn baseball delivered one of its most complete performances of the 2026 season Tuesday night, wiping out Alabama State in a 13-0 run-rule victory at Plainsman Park.
The Tigers were dominant from the opening pitch, only allowing one hit and walking one batter, and carried a perfect game into the seventh inning. Auburn’s pitching staff combined for its second straight shutout and extended its scoreless streak to 21 innings.
On offense, the Tigers prevailed, hitting four two-run home runs and recording seven extra-base hits. All nine batters in the starting lineup recorded hits for the second straight game, highlighting Auburn’s consistency and dominance at the plate.

“They played great again tonight,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. “Every hitter got a hit; some guys really tore it up. As an offense, it worked. I just don’t think we can operate any better than we did tonight. It was almost perfect.”
Auburn’s offense got on the board very early on, scoring its first run in the first inning when Bristol Carter, who hit a leadoff single and stole second and third base, scored on a sacrifice fly by the junior third baseman Eric Guevara.
Guevara paved the way for the Tigers with a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with two homers, a double, and five RBIs, matching up with his career high. In addition, Guevara extended his hitting streak to 12 games and has recorded multiple hits in each of his last four games.

“Continuing my pregame work, keeping it consistent, trusting my abilities and keeping that same swing has helped me the most,” Guevara said. “Now that the balls are falling, you can really see what our approach looks like. It’s something we’ve been working on since the fall.”
Auburn continued to gain momentum as the game progressed, extending the lead as Guevara and Chris Rembert delivered back-to-back extra-base hits in the third. The Tigers’ offense then exploded in the fourth inning, scoring five more runs and making it a 7-0 ballgame. The Tigers stayed alive the rest of the game, scoring two in the fifth and four in the sixth for insurance.
Griffin Graves made his first career start and earned the win on the mound, retiring every batter he faced. He was joined by Jett Johnston, Abe Chancellor and Ethan Harden, who, until the seventh inning when Alabama State hit a one-out single, held a perfect game.

“I thought I’d be really nervous, first time getting out there as a starter in an Auburn uniform,” Graves said. “It was awesome. I felt good, and I’m excited that I got out there. I was glad that we all linked up together tonight. We filled the strike zone really well.”
With this victory, Auburn improved its record to 25-11 on the season and continued its stretch of major success on both sides of the ball.
Auburn will look to carry this highly built-up momentum on the road on April 16-18 as the Tigers travel to Gainesville, Florida, for an SEC matchup against No. 20 Florida.
