Auburn men’s basketball continued its effort to build its 2026-27 roster on Monday, adding 6-foot-10 junior forward Owen Freeman from Creighton.

He is the third big man addition the Tigers have made so far, joining French center Narcisse Ngoy and redshirt junior Bukky Oboye, who transferred from Santa Clara.

Freeman played only one season with the Bluejays after playing his first two years at Iowa. In the 2023-24 season, he was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, averaging 10.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. In his second season with the Hawkeyes, he was the starting center before breaking his finger and undergoing season-ending surgery.

Freeman transferred to Creighton and played in only 26 games after suffering a knee injury during a pickup game in his hometown over the summer. He averaged 11.9 minutes per game.

Steven Pearl and his staff are hoping Freeman can have a healthy offseason and return to the Plains ready to regain his old form.
