During the early hours of Sunday morning, two individuals were injured after a man fell from the upper-level deck of Skybar Café on West Magnolia Avenue.
As first reported by Elizabeth White of WRBL, witnesses saw a man fall from the rooftop patio to the main area below, where he landed on a woman. It is believed he fell nearly 20 feet.
The Auburn Police Department and Auburn Fire Department responded to the scene on Sunday at 2 a.m. Emergency services received a call that a man was breathing and bleeding from the mouth after falling several feet.
More details on their condition have not yet been released, and the circumstances leading up to the incident are under investigation.
Skybar Café released an official statement on May 4, stating that the business is reviewing the incident and that neither individual sustained life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
The statement said that the incident involved a fall from an "upper-level area to a lower-level area." Skybar Café said emergency personnel and first responders were contacted and arrived on scene, transporting both individuals for further care.
As of now, the company will not comment further on medical conditions, personal details or circumstances of the incident.
Skybar Café said they are cooperating with authorities and are "continuing to review the matter internally." The bar also asked the public to refrain from spreading unverified accounts of the incident out of "respect for the privacy of those involved."
