Going out as a student at Auburn University is almost a rite of passage. For many, weekends mean packed dance floors and long lines at Skybar and Southeastern. However, Auburn’s nightlife goes beyond those two bars. Whether you don't drink, prefer smaller crowds or simply aren’t 21 yet, Auburn still offers plenty of ways to have a fun night.
Good Times Bowling and Lucky Strike
Students looking for a laid-back evening can check out Auburn’s local bowling alleys: Good Times Bowling and Lucky Strike. Both spots offer arcade games and bars to order food and drinks from. Good Times even offers an escape room for anyone who may be tired of throwing gutter balls.
Rock and Roll Pinball and Off the Rails Gaming
Rock and Roll Pinball and Off the Rails Gaming in Opelika are two options for those who enjoy gaming. Rock and Roll Pinball offers a retro experience with over 30 pinball machines, while Off the Rails offers tables for fans of tabletop games to play Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, board and card games and more.
Sing Sing Karaoke-Opelika
For students who like karaoke but don’t feel comfortable singing in front of an audience, try out Sing Sing Karaoke in Opelika. Sing Sing offers private rooms, as well as food and drinks that can be ordered and delivered to the rooms.
Piccolo at the Auburn Hotel
For those who love jazz or relaxing, high-end environments, Piccolo at the Auburn Hotel may be the place for you. Piccolo is a 21-and-over bar that provides a space for patrons to enjoy jazz, blues and soul music. The club-style lounge features an extensive wine list and a wide selection of local and regional craft beers.
Saftey
No matter how you choose to spend your night, whether you drink or stay sober, knowing your surroundings and understanding what safety resources Auburn provides is a must.
Scattered across campus and downtown are emergency call stations that are equipped with blue lights for identification. At each station, students can press a button to alert 911 immediately.
The Auburn Safety App is another key resource, offering features like safety guidelines and access to campus services. One of its most useful tools is the security shuttle, which provides rides between on-campus locations. Students can request a shuttle through the app or by calling 334-844-7400.
To report a concern, students have several options. For non-emergency situations or delayed reports, contact the City of Auburn Police at 334-501-3100. For campus-related safety concerns, Auburn’s Campus Safety and Security is reachable at 334-844-8888 or by email at campussafety@auburn.edu.
With a variety of things to do and resources in place to keep students safe, Auburn offers a nightlife that students can enjoy with a piece of mind.
