A quiet night at the plate was more than enough for No. 11 Auburn, as the Tigers used dominant pitching and a disciplined plate approach to earn a 1-0 victory over No. 21 Georgia Tech on Tuesday night at Plainsman Park. The tightly contested matchup played out in front of a record-setting midweek crowd of 5,559, giving fans a tense and rewarding evening of baseball.

On Tuesday, April 22, Auburn’s Student Government Association hosted its annual Final Lecture, featuring Eric Negangard. An associate professor of accountancy, Negangard spoke about his personal experiences with technology and building relationships in a lecture titled, “Trust in Your Tiger Stripes: The Importance of Relationships and Trust.”

Approximately 15 Auburn University international students and scholars have had their visas revoked because of “past criminal infractions.” Part of a national crackdown, Auburn University is one of numerous colleges and universities facing waves of visa revocations and record terminations led by the Department of State and Homeland Security.

On Tuesday, April 22, Auburn UPC hosted their Earth Day Extravaganza. Over 20 on-campus and community organizations showcased their causes through informational graphics and fun activities. The event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., consisted of activities like flower bouquet making, free food, t-shirt stamping and other crafts.

Chants and cheers echo, the crowd is ready to not just watch a game, but be a part of it. Fans are anticipating a wild game filled with quick breakaways and buzzer-beaters that will have everyone on the edge of their seats. This is Auburn Basketball. This is The Jungle.

Recruitment and orientation are major parts of the college experience. Not only for incoming students, but for the orienteers interacting with these students. For Auburn, the “big three,” would be student recruiters, Camp War Eagle counselors and Pi Chis. These orienteers see hundreds of students a year and when incoming students arrive on campus, these faces are the typically first ones seen.
