Auburn finished the Early Signing Day period with 23 names signed across the dotted line. Wednesday morning marks the beginning of National Signing Day 2020 where Auburn will look to close out the class with momentum for next season.
Gus Malzahn has lost another assistant coach to Florida State.
After a 2019 season in which head coach Gus Malzahn called the plays for Auburn, it appears he is handing the reins over to offensive coordinator Chad Morris, according to multiple reports out of Mobile while Malzahn is there for the Senior Bowl.

Just days after J.B. Grimes stepped away from the program, Auburn has named Jack Bicknell Jr. as the new offensive line coach.
Not only will Auburn have to replace four starters on its offensive line before next season; the Tigers will now have to replace offensive line coach J.B. Grimes, as well. The news of Grimes stepping down was first reported by 247Sports's Jason Caldwell.
Going into the Outback Bowl, Auburn players and its coaching staff were looking to capture the10th win of the season and carry momentum into 2020. Senior, and likely top-10 draft pick, Derrick Brown opted to return for the game and was joined by fellow senior Marlon Davidson on the defensive line. It seemed to be shaping up as one last ride for the dominant Auburn defense, but instead it ended in disappointment. In the end, Minnesota was able to dominate in the trenches, beating Auburn 31-24 and piling up 494 yards of total offense.

TAMPA, Fla. — Participating in a bowl game as a college athlete is considered to be a privilege. Players arrive a week prior to the game, are given opportunities to spend a week with their teammates while visiting attractions in the host city, and experience the local culture. If they did not know already, the Auburn Tigers have learned that the Outback Bowl is no exception.

TAMPA, Fla. — The 34th installment of the Outback bowl brings about many intriguing storylines: Auburn and Minnesota will encounter each other for the first time in history; each squad’s offensive scheme is significantly different than its counterpart; defensive play will likely be impactful for both squads; and talent differential, to name a few.
Auburn redshirt junior Nick Coe pass rusher has announced on his Instagram that he will be forgoing his senior season with the program. Coe also will not play in the Outback Bowl.
College football’s early signing period began today, which is now, ultimately, the new National Signing Day for the nation’s top high school and junior college prospects to announce their next destination. Before the new rules, the spectacle was in February but now head coaches and their staffs can get a head start on the majority of their incoming class before bowl season even begins.
