Cooper, Team USA earn silver in World Cup

Auburn junior third baseman Kasey Cooper and Team USA earned the silver medal at the World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Sunday. Cooper and Team USA went 5-1 in the tournament, including winning the opening five games before falling to Japan in the final game, 2-1. Cooper reached base in the top of the seventh after being hit by a pitch and represented the go-ahead run, but Japan retired the next two batters to end the contest.

Tigers rally with dream on a deadline

Auburn kicked off the contest with Tiffany Howard scoring on a sacrifice fly by Emily Carosone. Georgia wouldn't allow the Tigers to hold on to their 1-0 lead, responding with a double, sacrifice fly and single up the middle to score Alex Hugo. An Auburn pitching change brought in Rachael Walters and with her came another Georgia run.

Three Tigers earn NFCA All-American honors

Fifty-eight student-athletes from 31 different institutions were selected to one of three 2016 NFCA Division I All-American teams, the Association announced on Wednesday afternoon. Auburn's Kasey Cooper earned the third baseman position on the first team for the second year in a row.
