Auburn University student political organizations host Great Debate

On Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. in the Haley Center, student representatives from Auburn College Republicans, College Democrats at Auburn University and the Mises Society participated in the annual Great Debate. The discussion centered around current hot topics like the emergence of the Department of Government Efficiency, the United States' role in global affairs and immigration policies.

Auburn United Campus Workers hold rally and petition for better wages

On April 9, the United Campus Workers of Alabama at Auburn University held a rally and petition signing at Toomer’s Corner. The rally highlighted their demand for the university to conduct cost of living adjustments, raise the university’s minimum wage to $17.50, increase graduate student stipends to $25k and other things before marching to the President's office in Samford Hall to deliver the petition to President Christopher Roberts and Chief Financial Officer Kelli Shomaker. However, neither Roberts nor Shomaker was present at the time of the delivery.

Meet the 2025 Miss Auburn candidates and their campaigns

Five candidates will compete to become Miss Auburn 2025, with the winner serving as the official hostess for Auburn University. From 7 to 5 p.m., candidates will represent their campaigns Wednesday through Friday and meet with students on the Haley Concourse. Voting will occur on Friday, Feb. 7 from 7 to 5 p.m. and the winner will be announced the same day at 10 p.m. on the Cater Hall steps.

Bald eagle nest removal sparks outrage, boycott and federal investigation

On Friday night, Nov. 15, Columbus, Georgia contractor Hughston Homes removed a bald eagle nest near North College Street, despite a viral petition and community support to save the nest. The bonded bald eagle pair, named Jim and Pam by locals, are now without a home for nesting season, sparking outrage in the Auburn community, as residents and students call for a boycott and city officials request a federal investigation.
