Ella Walton, majoring in English literature with a minor in creative writing, currently serves as the culture editor at The Auburn Plainsman. She has been with The Auburn Plainsman since fall of 2023.
Auburn University alumna Cynthia Tucker's journalistic journey began in The Plainsman newsroom. Being awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2007 and the Harper Lee Award in 2022, Tucker's commentary serves as a testament to the importance of free speech.

On Feb. 5, Auburn's University Program Council hosted a belated 169th birthday celebration for Auburn University, whose official birthday is on Feb. 1. The annual event, which was held in the Melton Student Center ballroom, began at 6 p.m. and lasted until 9 p.m.
Many students are feeling stressed as they prepare for the upcoming election, with pressures stemming from the need to stay informed, manage differing opinions and juggle academic responsibilities. Experts highlight how stress can impact mental well-being and offer advice on coping strategies, such as setting boundaries around political content and practicing self-care.
The Homecoming Pep Rally followed the parade to hype up the Auburn community for a weekend full of festivities. This event gave Miss Homecoming candidates, students and Auburn figures a chance to share their love for Auburn with the Auburn Family.
With the assistance of its mentors, volunteers and sponsors, the Alabama Governor’s Youth Leadership Forum provides students with disabilities the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, make meaningful connections and become confident in who they are. Roughly 30 high school students from all over Alabama are able to partake in the program each year.
