Emily May, senior majoring in public relations with a minor in creative writing, has been with The Auburn Plainsman since August 2021. She previously served as the Social Media Manager and is currently serving as the Operations Editor.
Esperanza House is a Christian-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for low-income Hispanic families in Lee County. The nonprofit meets the needs of its families in several areas, such as food insecurity, healthcare and an after-school tutoring program.
With political divide being at an all-time high in the last decade, voters believe that this election is one of the most important to the future of the country. Election years heighten emotions and strengthen walls built to protect our personal values from attack, minimizing openings for dissenting opinions. Our generation and the generations before us have sowed a landscape that is treacherous for our country and threatens the greatest parts of humanity: empathy and human connection.
