Project Safe Flight aims to make Auburn safer for birds

The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) has partnered with Alabama Audubon, a statewide avian conservation group, to critically examine Auburn’s campus and how buildings can be safer for birds. CFWE joins Alabama Audubon's Project Safe Flight, a conservation initiative that seeks to protect local bird populations from deadly collisions with windows.

2025 SGA major candidates face off in debate

On Thursday, Feb. 6, the Student Government Association Major Candidate Debate occurred in the Student Activities Center at 5 p.m. For major candidates, questions were directed to an individual candidate, who had one minute to respond. Each remaining candidate then had 45 seconds for a rebuttal. The debate concluded with each candidate delivering a closing statement.

Aubie and Auburn Students brave the cold at Rec Center's Polar Plunge for Lee County Special Olympics

The Recreation and Wellness Center hosted the Polar Plunge Thursday evening, a charity event with sweet treats, free giveaways and a dip in icy waters to benefit the Lee County Special Olympics. Not to be outdone in school spirit, Aubie himself was in attendance and was the first to jump in for every plunge, albeit with some assistance from his trusty inflatable pool ring.

SGA expands ranked choice voting to include Miss Auburn and Miss Homecoming

Auburn SGA voted to expand the system of ranked choice voting that they have used for major positions since 2020 to include Miss Auburn and Miss Homecoming. The bill passed with a 23-6 majority after a presentation and debate on the SGA senate floor and is meant to make election season on the concourse a less confrontational environment.

UPC and the German Club host first ever Bavarian Bash

The University Program Council and the German Club hosted the first Bavarian Bash on the lower quad lawn on Sept. 8, an Oktoberfest-inspired event with food, games and polka. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., attendees could decorate Oktoberfest cookies in between games of spikeball and cornhole, enjoy a soda beverage meant to emulate the popular German drink Spezi and eat German cuisine.
