It has been nearly seven months since the Tigers have hit the turf, but they will return to Atlanta for the first game of the season in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game on Sept. 1 in the Georgia Dome against Clemson.

Auburn will receive $3.2 million to play the Louisville Cardinals in the Georgia Dome on Sept. 5, according to a report by AL.com.

The game contract called for Auburn to purchase over $3 million in seats. The athletics department announced in July that Auburn’s 30,000 tickets were sold out.

The contract also requires Chick-fil-A to donate $50,000 to the Auburn scholarship fund and provide the football team 100 hotel rooms on the weekend of the game.

The compensation will cancel out the money owed to the three nonconference teams visiting Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2015.

San Jose State, Jacksonville State and Idaho are owed a total of $3.13 million.
