April 8, 4:52 p.m. CDT — Junior guard Abdul Bashir entered the transfer portal just minutes after Freeman, according to a report from On3. Bashir dealt with a lingering injury throughout the season and struggled to find his way into the rotation, averaging 2.0 points per game across just six appearances.
April 20, 1:40 pm. CDT — In a shocking turn of events, freshman forward Sebastian Williams-Adams is entering the transfer portal, he announced on Instagram. The Houston native played in all 38 games for Auburn, averaging 7.0 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 50.5% from the field. He set the Tigers’ record for most steals in a season by a freshman with 47. This move comes after Auburn received commitments from Freeman and Dowd.
April 22, 9:28 a.m. CDT — After a wave of newcomers to Auburn’s frontcourt over the past few days, center Emeka Opurum entered the transfer portal, per Pete Nakos. He missed the majority of last season with an undisclosed medical condition.
Additions (5)
April 17, 9:02 a.m. CDT — Auburn secured its first transfer portal addition with the signing of Santa Clara big man Bukky Oboye. The 7-foot-1 center spent three seasons at Santa Clara, starting in 34 games this past season and averaging 7.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He marks the second 7-footer that the Tigers will have down low next year, joining French signee Narcisse Ngoy.
April 20, 9:05 a.m. CDT — The Tigers added Creighton transfer forward Owen Freeman, per a report from On3. Freeman spent two years at Iowa before transferring to Creighton last offseason, and he earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in 2023-24. As a sophomore, Freeman averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game before suffering an injury, and a separate injury limited his production the past season with the Bluejays. Freeman marks Auburn's third frontcourt addition, joining 7-footers Bukky Oboye and French professional Narcisse Ngoy.
April 20, 1:30 p.m. CDT — Auburn added another big man, this time securing a commitment from Thomas Dowd, per Joe Tipton. The junior from Dothan, Alabama, averaged 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game this season and led Troy to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
April 21, 6 p.m. CDT — Auburn added sharpshooter Adam Olsen from South Alabama, per Jon Rothstein. The forward averaged 16.7 points per game on 39.9% shooting from the field. He made 102 3-pointers last season.
April 22, 9:30 a.m. CDT — One day after losing Sebastian Williams-Adams to Vanderbilt, Auburn returned the favor, picking up guard George Kimble III from the Commodores, per Justin Hokanson. He never appeared in a game for Vanderbilt, but the season before, he averaged 18 points per game for Eastern Kentucky.
Confirmed Returners (3)
April 7, 2:56 p.m. CDT — Junior guard Kevin Overton announces he will return to Auburn for the 2026-27 season. Overton evolved into one of the Tigers' more productive scorers down the stretch, averaging 18.6 points per game on 53.6% shooting from behind the arc across Auburn's five NIT games. The sharpshooter recorded 20 points or more in six contests of Auburn's last nine contests, and his game-tying 3-pointer to send Sunday's NIT championship game to overtime is likely cemented as the biggest shot of the Tigers' season.
April 9, 1:12 p.m. CDT — Freshman guard Simon Walker announced via social media that he will return to the Plains for his sophomore campaign. Walker averaged 2.5 points per game in just 13 games played this past season, but he was 9-for-17 from behind the arc. His breakout game came in November against Jackson State, when he posted 15 points on a perfect 5-for-5 from downtown in seven minutes of action off the bench.
April 11, 1:11 p.m. CDT — Sophomore standout guard Tahaad Pettiford declared his intention to return to Auburn for a third year, according to a post on X. Pettiford started in 36 of Auburn's 38 games this past season, posting 15.4 points and 3.8 assists per game on 39.3% shooting from the field. His retention is undoubtedly Steven Pearl's biggest win of the offseason thus far.
