A budget increase of $37 million will see Auburn University through the next year.
The Board of Trustees approved a $1.162 billion budget for the 2016 fiscal year at their meeting on Friday, Sept. 25.
A $30 million increase in revenue from tuition and fees made up the largest portion of new revenue for the University. The state also increased the University’s appropriations by $2.5 million over last year. Another $18 million was gained from a reallocation of other funds.
Auburn’s main campus will receive $942 million, while Auburn University at Montgomery will receive $100 million.
Another $65 million will go to Auburn’s Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station program. And $55 million will help fund the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, which is an outreach program in partnership with Alabama A&M, the state’s other land-grant university.
The new budget includes an average 3.5 percent merit pay increase for employees, and an additional 2 percent one-time supplement pool to be given out a case by case basis.
