Soccer prepares for Kentucky, Georgia in final homestand

The No. 15-ranked Auburn soccer team will return home Friday, Oct. 23 and Sunday, Oct. 25 to face Kentucky and Georgia at the Auburn Soccer Complex. The two matches will aid in deciding the regular season SEC champions.

The Tigers will take on the Wildcats (9-4-3, 3-2-2 SEC) Friday with first kick set for 7 p.m. CST. Auburn sits at a three-way tie for second place in SEC standings, tied with Texas A&M and Ole Miss at 15 points. The Tigers are only separated from Florida, South Carolina and Missouri by just one point.

"We're trying to take it one game at a time," said coach Karen Hoppa. "A lot can happen in these last three games as we've seen in the past. We can't worry about everyone else's results. We just have to focus on ourselves and prepare for Kentucky."

Sunday's match against Georgia will be senior night for Kala Faulkner, Sophie Simantel and Logan Beal. The three will look to keep Auburn undefeated at home for the season, as they sit on at a perfect 8-0-0.

"It'll be emotional on Sunday for our seniors even though it is a big rivalry game with Georgia," said junior Casie Ramsier. "I know the junior class is really close with the senior group, and we'll make sure everyone is focused on sending these seniors out the right way."
