Midterms and finals may not be the only stressful weeks a student has on campus. But if you don't have time to go back to your dorm or apartment or have an hour to kill in between classes, you can de-stress in any of these locations.
Cater Lawn
Samford Lawn
A favorite for many students, Samford Lawn's beautiful landscape attracts students from all over campus to sprawl out their stuff and take some time for themselves. Hammocks can be thrown up in a short time and students can bring blankets to spread out on the lawn.
The Red Barn
Greenspace
Ralph Brown Draughon Library
The Ralph Brown Draughon Library is known as a place to study not to relax. But if you need a quiet moment and a cup of coffee at the same time, then RBD is the place for you. Students can get their coffee on the second floor and go up to the fourth floor, which is the designated quiet floor. Or they can try the ground floor, which has fewer places to sit, but also has fewer people.
Third floor of the Student Center
If you only go to the Student Center for Chick-fil-A, you may not know about the third floor of the Student Center. With chairs, couches and high bar stool areas scattered throughout the floor, students can tuck themselves away into any area and relax.
South Donahue Hall
Five minutes from the Student Center, South Donahue has several picnic tables scattered around the building. With a courtyard area that offers several different areas to sit and relax, this spot is a well-hidden gem for students to find. You can see the video board, Samford Lawn, Cater Hall and the Recreation and Wellness Center from one area.
Next time you need to take a moment, check out these spots on campus.
