Auburn pitcher Cole Lipscomb and infielder Kyler Deese have been suspended by baseball coach Butch Thompson for violating team rules, per reports by AuburnUndercover and AL.com.
Lipscomb was the Tigers' opening-day starter against Sacramento State on Feb. 19. He posted a record of 8-2 last year.
Deese hit .254 last year as a redshirt sophomore and had been used as a third baseman and catcher this season.
Auburn (2-2) will open a weekend series with Southern University at 3 p.m. on Friday. Octavio Rodriguez is scheduled to start in Lipscomb's place.
